Owning a home is such a joy. I was talking to a few folks at church about home ownership, and how there are minuses along with the many joys. For instance, a few weeks ago, the microwave that came with our home was in need of some major love. There were times you would set the dumb thing to heat something up, and after the programmed time, you were still stuck with a cold pile of food. So this morning, I woke up early to put our brand new appliance on the wall. After taking down the original one, taping up the new unit's template, I discovered the giant holes the previous installer made would prevent me from using the bracket of the new one. To make a long adventure short, I screwed as many screws as I could into the studs and hung the new microwave. If we were still in an apartment, a nice one at that, all I would have to do is make one phone call and this would have been all taken care of by the custodial crew of the apartment complex. Oh how I miss living in an apartment.
