Got Headache?

This morning I went to visit a doctor about my headaches. I was okay with going to because I need to have something to help me out when I have those days that I cannot function.
I drove down to the place; I was about twenty minutes early so I could get all my paper work done and stuff. I sat in the lobby, after filling out five or six pages of information about my medical history, and I was called in to the examination room. The assistant took my vitals and before the doctor came in.

We sat, talked, he looked in my ears, eyes, and throat. He suggested I cut back on the caffeine by a third for a few weeks, then again after that, then to zero, EEK! He suggested this course of action, because it would reduce the probability of rebound headaches. I knew the rebound affect, but I didn't realize moderation was going to be the key to it all. We talked some more, because he had mentioned some of the OTC medication I could take, ibuprofen not on empty stomach because it may cause ulcers. He rattled off a list of medication for people who have migraines, but he determined the source of my headaches were tension. Tylenol isn't that great, because at the onset of severe headaches, it would do the trick.

Anyway, I got home to my couch and stayed there the rest of the day, not because I had a headache, rather, I was just tired. I did put a deposit on our cruise in December, as well. My father is a funny little Chinaman. He called at 7:30 a.m. (I swear he thinks I live in New York still) to tell me he has the reservation in, but I need to get the deposit in, the travel agent called soon after that, then my dad two to three times more, until I answered. I was fortunate for the time I did answer, I was asleep and I would have missed out on getting our deposit in. If you are wondering where the cruise is to, Miami to the Panama Canal (but not through that is expensive). There are all sorts of ports we will stopping at that Amy and my father know where.
Anyway, I walked down to Tenn Street Coffee and Books to have my quiet time and pray on the way there. I was able to jot a few thoughts on the retreat over Labor Day weekend, while I was waiting to get on one of the computers on there. Now I’m home, waiting for Amy to return from a Bible study she has been a part of since March or April. Pray for the sisters involved and Melanie who they are studying with.

In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. Acts 13:1-3
