If you have been following the news in Colorado, you know there was a gigantic car pile up on I-70 in the mountains. There was one fatality, Lance Melting, some one I know personally. It's a tough pill to swallow. He was the first kung fu student here in Colorado, he bugged shifu enough to get shifu to teach him and his brother-in-law. He leaves behind an incredible family of four children and his wife. I'm just bummed about it, and I pray that God has something big planned for his family to overcome and be that much more incredible. I just feel terrible about not being able to see him one more time.
One of my favorite memories of Lance is when he returned to kung fu, with six year old Aaron, ready to teach, ready to start a new chapter with his children and their involvement in kung fu. We would always joke about how his kids move just like him, and he would say, the difference their getting better. The guy was just your big hearted, natural leader, who everyone liked. He will be missed, and there will be a void where he stood in the front of the class.
God, just help Jamie to get better quickly, heal his children's hearts, and comfort the family and friends that are still here.
