You're going to do what?

Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?"
"Yes, my son?" Abraham replied.
"The fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
Genesis 22:7
When Abraham brought Issac to be sacrificed, we often credit this moment to faith and righteousness, because Abraham was obedient to God. In Genesis 22:7, Issac asks the question, "...where is the lamb (?)..." Yes it is true that Abraham was the example of faith one must have to be a friend to God, but his example as a parent mus be imitated as well. He taught his son, showed his son and most likely his son participated in worshiping God with him. If this were not the case, the moment when Abraham tells his servants that only he and his son will go further, would have been met with some resistance on the part of Issac. The notion of them going away to offer sacrifices appears to be a regular occurrence, because Issac didn't put up a fight in going. He didn't act like he wasn't interested, nor did he mock his father when there wasn't a lamb to sacrifice. As Disciples we need to keep this in mind, if we are going to impact the children in our lives to love God and know Jesus.
