We're back!

Okay, so it's been a week since I've actually made an entry, I don't know why I've missed out on it. Anyway, Amy and I were just in Nebraska visiting her family up there. It's pretty up there, so I have been told. It is winter time up there, so the fields are brown and there wasn't one glimpse of blue sky around. Thane is on leave and we got see them last week when they came to pick him up from his trip from the Middle East. He was deployed back in August, and we're grateful for his return for this month. The family celebrated Thane's-giving, since he's on leave, and we made the six hour drive up there.

Monday, a week ago, Amy's car finally died on us. The transmission, which has been leaking for ever, is toast. Since the car is only worth a few hundred dollars, we've decided fixing it is not worth it at all. Of course, it had to be the day I started at Hacienda, and I had to get ready to be at work the next day at six o'clock in the morning.

Tuesday, started our adventure with one car. With both of us working on the south side of own, it works well, but I have to be there at six and she doesn't have to be at work until eight o'clock or so. I felt overwhelmed my first day. Most of it due to feeling guilty and not wanting to get caught by my boss for not coming in to work at Old Chicago. I guess six years will do that to you.

Wednesday thru Friday was more of the same thing. I'm pretty bummed not being able to go to Gen-ext or Bible talk this week, but I am grateful for the best wife in the whole world taking care of me and encouraging me. She is a great source of joy for me and I to tell her that more and more.

Friday night, after getting out of work an hour late, we left of for our overnight journey to the ranch. We drove on the interstate until Ogalalla, then we were drove on a two lane high way the rest of the way. That was for almost three hours as well. We scared off a coyote from the middle of the road, saw a deer on the sided of the road and saw quite a bit of road kill as well. We got to the house at two o'clock and we were exhausted.

In all, we've been getting along quite a bit better. I think having to depend on each other for getting around has something to do with it. God is amazing, blessed Amy with a free car, and then takes it away because we were getting too independent of one another in our marriage. Matt and I had a great conversation Sunday night when we got in, he's good for things like that. I have been able to come up with some more goals for my What Matter's Most roles. I'll put them up some time soon.

So, I've been a little itchy this week to let you know what is going on in my life. I plan on getting a little better at keeping this thing updated.
