Today at church, Rob Ferry preached a sermon on character. In a nutshell, when the cards are stacked against you, what will be your response? Looking through Matthew 26 and 27, we get a glimpse of what Jesus is made of. He didn't get involved with trying to settle with the court, he went to God in response to the challenge, he lived knowing God was around and Jesus stayed on His cross, when challenged by others of how powerful God is.
It was just great to hear Rob share his heart about how our character has been molded with the events of '03 and how so many changes have made us rusty at sharing our faith. In the C.U. campus, the thirty Disciples up there have created a list of one hundred or more people they have ran into. Similar to what happen to the Disciples in Acts 13, they had students come to them with open hearts to the Gospel. I know Amy and I were challenged in our hearts in how to reach to others.
Anyway, we have some great things on tap this week. Wednesday, we are headed to midweek and most likely the teens will be hanging out for the Ice Cream Social, in celebration of having combined midweek. Friday will be another Song Devotional, which we attended last month, and was incredible. Sunday is packed with worship and hanging out with the May afterwards.
