(long bitter)

Where has all the time gone? As per usual long awaited posts, an update of sorts. As you may know, I have more weekend days off than weekdays. I know this doesn't serve as a good excuse, but it is all I have. I find great joy in spending my time off with my wife rather than with my laptop open asking me to tap on it's keys. Anyway, in July, my folks from Long Island were in town to see the house, and spend time with us. I think it was an excuse to check up on me, because they spent the entire time in my house. From there time has flown by.

My Wife and I are no longer serving in the teen ministry, we are trying to spend time with actual adults, so this takes some effort. Last week, we had some friends over to enjoy a six course meal I took all day to cook for. We are part of a young marrieds Bible talk where everyone in our group I have been in another ministry with. Two couples, I have been roommates with the husbands. Two couples, they have been or still are Teen Leaders. And one couple I was in the campus ministry with the wife. This has been a smooth transition for My Wife and I, and now we just need to give to them as we learned to do with the teens.

Looking forward, My Wife starts law school on Monday. We are going to get our roof fixed due the hail storm three weeks ago. We knew moving in that it was a concern, but with the hail storm lasting over ten minutes and pretty much flooding out our neighborhood, we felt it was necessary for us to call the insurance company to check out our home. They have agreed to pay for the roof and half the exterior paint, so now I'm in the market for a roofing guy.

We bought another appliance. We are proud owners of a 21 cubic foot freezer. I love having a freezer, and now with all that space I need to get cracking on making stocks and broths for us to use and cook with. With the success of our garden this year, we will be needing it to store various vegetables. That's six weeks in a nutshell.
