(so long)

In the past two weeks, I have been to Nebraska and back and Idaho and back. Amy's Grandmother has passed away. We visited the ranch when she was alive and few days after we returned to Denver, she passed peacefully. The family says it's better to have her pass, than have her suffer as she was. I'll spare you the details, you don't want to know it all. Anyway, the time in Idaho was welcomed, although it involved two extremely long drives, I actually didn't do much. I was sick with a cold or something, but I think God had me sick so I would actually take some time off. He is good like that, you know what I'm saying?

Lessons learned:
  1. Amy and I need to spend more time talking and less time sitting next to each other.
  2. We both have different family dynamics, and I will need to keep trying to understand her family.
  3. 3000 miles on a car comes quickly when you do your own oil changes.
  4. Many of Amy and her friends are similar in how they deal with situations.
  5. There are other "cities" in Idaho besides Boise.
  6. Finally, God put Amy and I together so we can learn more about who we are and what we can learn from each other.
Upon our return to Denver, HMP had a two events on Saturday that need me to be involved. The first was the International festival in Aurora and the other was a test of rank for many of the students. It was good for me to spend the day with Shifu and just hang out in between both events, the only thing that could have been better was to have the test be about two hours shorter. How long was it, five hours long. I've never been to one that long. Amy came and I thought it would be over quickly, but it wasn't. So we were there well past 11 o'clock, around the same timer the Florida State at CU game was letting out. The next day was back to the grind for me: church, take a nap, go to work, so here it is a rare Wednesday morning I have off, with two shifts to go to. I won't be late by any means, but it will be long.
