(the day)

When I have to go to the Teahouse, I usually have to out the door at 5:40 am. This is a bit rough, being that I can not remember anything I need or need to get done before I leave. I get the basic morning routine, but in all honesty, I have to pack my bag and set it by the door, set the timer on the coffee machine and set my clothes out the night before. On Mondays, I only work at the Teahouse, so I don't need much else, but on Wednesday and Thursday, I go to Leaf Vegetarian and Old Chicago, respectively. So I need to ensure I have the right things in my bag. (I honestly hate the fact my memory has been like this, I'm sure if you ask my mother, she'll tell you it's my diet. My co-workers are convinced it's chemically induced through some sort of illegal activity, which I know it's not. My wife will tell you it's stress, and personally it's because I have to write everything down, and I don't mind.)

On Tuesdays, which is our date night, I have to be at Old Chicago by 10:00 am, so I welcome that day, as well as Sunday where I go to church at 10:00 am and then work at 5:00 pm. Depending what is going on for the week, depends on how much I can do outside of the 65+ hours of work I have for the week. On the last payday, I racked up well over 120 hours for the two week period between all three jobs. This week is very different to that, and we'll feel it next payday, but we are headed to ranch for a few days. Amy's grandma isn't doing well, and Amy wants to spend every waking hour on the ranch, if that's possible.

What makes up your day? I could easily tell you about each minute I am on the bus, or between jobs, or the fact that when I ask a guest how they are and the respond with a drink order, or how I had a great conversation with some of the MIT's at Old Chicago, etc. Really, it's the time we have here on earth, to best glorify our God.

Which brings me to the day. In Hebrews 10:25 "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." The day is in reference to the coming of Jesus our Lord and Savior. I can not wait for that day. I am always thinking about when we will be lifted to the highest heavens and brought to the inner sanctuary of heaven and we will be able to kneel before God himself and praise Him. The days here on earth, pale in comparison to that day. Even though they all blend together for me right now. I am always looking ahead to The Day, when Jesus lifts us up to heaven.
